ichihu.com respects the intellectual property rights of others and expects its users to do the same. In accordance with the Digital Millennium Copyright Act of 1998 (DMCA), we will respond promptly to claims of copyright infringement committed using our website that are reported to our designated Copyright Agent.

This DMCA Policy explains how to submit a takedown notice, our counter-notice process, and what happens after we receive a valid complaint.

1Our Commitment to Copyright

ichihu.com publishes free online calculators, guides, and educational content to help users with health, fitness, finance, and productivity decisions. All original content on this website — including written text, custom graphics, calculator logic, and page design — is the property of ichihu.com and its contributors unless otherwise noted.

We do not knowingly host, link to, or distribute material that infringes the copyright of any individual or organization. If you believe your work has been used on our site in a way that constitutes copyright infringement, we want to hear from you and will act quickly on valid notices.

2Filing a DMCA Takedown Notice

If you are a copyright owner (or authorized to act on behalf of one) and believe that content on ichihu.com infringes your copyright, you may submit a written DMCA takedown notice to our designated Copyright Agent.

To be effective under 17 U.S.C. § 512(c)(3), your notice must be in writing, sent to our designated agent, and include all of the elements listed in the next section.

Before you file: Contact us informally first. Many copyright concerns can be resolved quickly without a formal DMCA notice. Send an email to our contact address below and we'll respond within 48 hours.

3Required Elements of a Notice

To help us process your request quickly, please include all of the following in your DMCA notice:

  • A physical or electronic signature of the copyright owner or a person authorized to act on their behalf.
  • Identification of the copyrighted work claimed to have been infringed — or, if multiple works are covered by a single notice, a representative list of those works.
  • Identification of the material that is claimed to be infringing (or the subject of infringing activity), including the specific URL(s) on ichihu.com.
  • Sufficient information to permit us to contact you — full name, mailing address, telephone number, and email address.
  • A statement that you have a good faith belief that the disputed use is not authorized by the copyright owner, its agent, or the law.
  • A statement, made under penalty of perjury, that the information in your notice is accurate and that you are the copyright owner or authorized to act on behalf of the copyright owner.
Note: Notices that omit required elements may delay processing. Please review your notice carefully before sending.

5Our Response Process

When we receive a properly formatted DMCA takedown notice, we follow this process:

StepActionTimeline
1 Acknowledge receipt of your notice. Within 48 hours
2 Review the notice for completeness and validity. 48–72 hours
3 Remove or disable access to the allegedly infringing material. Immediately upon validation
4 Notify the affected user that the content was removed. Same business day
5 Forward the notice to the affected user so they can file a counter-notice if appropriate. Within 3 business days

We maintain records of all DMCA notices received and actions taken, as required by law.

6Filing a Counter-Notice

If your content was removed due to a DMCA takedown notice and you believe the removal was the result of mistake or misidentification, you may file a counter-notice under 17 U.S.C. § 512(g)(3).

Your counter-notice must include:

  • Your physical or electronic signature.
  • Identification of the material that was removed and the location where it previously appeared (URL).
  • A statement under penalty of perjury that you have a good faith belief the material was removed as a result of mistake or misidentification.
  • Your full name, address, and telephone number.
  • A statement that you consent to the jurisdiction of the Federal District Court for the judicial district in which your address is located, or if outside the United States, to any judicial district in which ichihu.com may be found.
  • A statement that you will accept service of process from the person who provided the original DMCA notice.

Upon receiving a valid counter-notice, we will forward it to the original complaining party and may restore the removed content in 10–14 business days unless the original party files a court action seeking to restrain the alleged infringing activity.

7Repeat Infringers Policy

In appropriate circumstances, ichihu.com will terminate the accounts or access privileges of users or contributors who are determined to be repeat infringers of copyright. If we identify a pattern of infringement, we may take the following actions:

  • Suspend the user's access to any account or submission privileges.
  • Block future submissions of content from the user.
  • Permanently ban the user from using ichihu.com.
  • Report the matter to the appropriate authorities if criminal activity is suspected.

We maintain an internal log of all DMCA actions and will consider the number and severity of violations when evaluating repeat infringement.

8Misrepresentation Warning

Important legal warning: Under 17 U.S.C. § 512(f), any person who knowingly materially misrepresents that material is infringing, or that material was removed by mistake, may be liable for damages, including costs and attorney's fees incurred by the alleged infringer, the copyright owner, or the service provider.

Before submitting a DMCA notice, be sure that you actually own the copyright in question and that the use on ichihu.com is not protected by fair use, license, or other lawful basis. Consult an attorney if you are unsure.

9Good Faith & Fair Use

ichihu.com believes strongly in the fair use doctrine. We occasionally quote short excerpts from third-party sources, use publicly available data, or reference research studies for the purpose of commentary, criticism, education, and news reporting. These uses are protected under 17 U.S.C. § 107 and are not the subject of DMCA takedown requests.

If you believe a specific use on our site exceeds fair use, please identify the exact excerpt, the URL where it appears, and your reasoning. We will review every claim individually.

Examples of fair use on ichihu.com: Quoting a study's findings, summarizing a public health guideline, citing a definition from a medical dictionary, or referencing a formula from academic literature.

10Updates to This Policy

We may update this DMCA Policy from time to time to reflect changes in applicable law, our procedures, or our services. The "Last updated" date at the top of this page reflects the most recent revision.

Continued use of ichihu.com after any changes to this policy constitutes your acceptance of the revised terms. We encourage you to review this page periodically.
